Danny Cullum

Danny grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina. He enjoys hiking and camping in Western NC, but feels most at home with sand underneath his feet. He played soccer and tennis in high school, and continues to play both here in Wilmington whenever he gets the chance. He earned his degree in Environmental Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Danny learned to surf during a summer internship in Nags Head, NC and began helping with surf camps and teaching surf lessons in 2018. That summer in environmental education in the Outer Banks has ultimately shaped him into the person he is today: someone passionate about learning, teaching, and sharing joy through our coastal environment. Danny is lucky to have surfed all over North Carolina, in Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico, and looks forward to experiencing new places when the opportunity arises. Danny spends his free time surfing, playing soccer, and chilling at home with his cat, Beans, and his dog, Miso.
