Instructor Highlight: Austin Cooper
Surf instructor Austin Cooper joins us this upcoming Summer for his 2nd year at Surf Camp. Austin’s zest for life and always-positive attitude has made him a great attribute to the Surf Camp family. Whether he is surfing, skateboarding, or leading a surf lesson, everything he does is done with grace and humility. We can’t wait to have him back on our team and look forward to another great year!
About Austin
What drew you to a position at WB Surf Camp?
My love for the ocean and surfing was what initially drew me to Surf Camp. It was also a heck of a lot cooler than waiting tables!
In what way has the ocean impacted your life?
I grew up on a river so I’ve always had an appreciation for the water. I fell in love with the ocean and surfing when I was 16 and it has been my happy place ever since
What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
Probably Nicaragua. The most relaxed and chill trip of my life. The waves are good and I go to travel there with a great crew.
Who/what is your biggest inspiration?
My dad. He’s shown me how to be a genuine and trustworthy human in and out of the water.
What are some of your interests outside of surfing?
I like playing my guitar, skateboarding and fishing.

What is your favorite music?
Modern Blues
What is your favorite food? Tacos
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Owning my own barber shop.
