Come Celebrate International Surfing Day!
Get ready to paddle out and celebrate surfing during the 7th Annual International Surfing Day this June 20th. The fascination of riding waves continues to enthrall millions around the globe, as sport of surfing has taken up roots in virtually every country that touches an ocean – and even a few that don’t! International Surfing Day unites surfers worldwide, and encourages ocean enthusiasts, no matter where they live, to give back by participating in a local Surfrider Foundation event.
In addition to giving back by volunteering their time, people can also join or renew their membership to the Surfrider Foundation by participating in a special ISD membership drive. This year, for $25, new or renewing members will receive a limited edition ISD t-shirt, one-year membership to SURFING Magazine and a bar of all-natural surf wax. For those looking to go big, they can join or renew at the $100 level and receive all the great premiums listed above, along with a pair of Dragon E.C.O. Sunglasses and a tube of Eco-logical Sunblock.
Wrightsville Beach Surf Camp will offer free surfing lessons on a first come first surf basis! These lessons will take place between 12pm and 3pm. There will be a bag toss for prizes and tons of free items given away by participating sponsors! The first grom to say they saw the event on Facebook gets a free DaKine traction pad. First person to come up with at least 50 cigarette butts gets a free pair of Ocean Minded flips!
This event will take place Monday, June 20th from 9:00am-3:00pm, between Access #38 and #39 on Wrightsville Beach. We are excited to take a day off work to enjoy the ocean and celebrate International Surfing Day!
See you on the beach!
