Program Coordinator
Rhiannon Saydlowski
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Rhiannon grew up vacationing on the NC coast, which ignited her passion for marine life and ocean conservation. Her love for the ocean led her to move to Wilmington in 2021, where she immersed herself in coastal ecology and the vibrant local surf culture.
Before joining Sea Turtle Camp, Rhiannon spent two years as WB Surf Camp’s Surf School Coordinator, introducing tourists to the thrill of surfing while emphasizing the importance of ocean safety. She has been a dedicated volunteer on the rehabilitation team at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center since 2022 , gaining hands-on experience caring for sick and injured sea turtles while educating visitors about conservation efforts. Her background also includes teaching high school health science in Pender County, where she inspired students to explore the connections between human health, environmental sustainability, and outdoor activity.
When she’s not at camp or the sea turtle hospital, you can find Rhiannon surfing, paddleboarding, or walking the beach with her dog, Myla.
