Program Director
Aidan Kratt
Born in Stowe, Vermont, Aidan Kratt hit the slopes on a snowboard by the age of four, sparking a lifelong love of board sports. At eight, he moved with his family to Ottawa, Canada, where he added rugby, lacrosse, football, and competitive swimming to his athletic resume—earning 54 medals and assisting in coaching younger swimmers along the way.
Every summer, Aidan and his family spend time in Lavallette, New Jersey. That’s where he first hopped on a surfboard at age 11—and instantly fell in love. Thanks to his snowboarding background, he picked it up fast and hasn’t looked back since.
After graduating high school in 2020, Aidan took two gap years to travel and grow. He lived on the North Shore of Oahu for over a year, working, surfing, and soaking up everything the island had to offer. He then headed to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, for two months of surfing daily, staying in a local hostel, and connecting with people from around the world.
In 2023, Aidan enrolled at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he’s now entering his third year studying Fitness and Healthful Living. Wilmington’s great weather and easy access to waves make it the perfect place to balance school and surf.
When he’s not in the ocean, Aidan’s usually in the gym, reading, cooking, playing sports with friends, or building something random with his roommates. This is his first season as a surf instructor, and he’s beyond stoked to share his passion, help others progress, and make sure everyone has the most epic time out on the water.
