Frequently Asked Questions:
I've never surfed before. Is this club for me?
The After School Surf Club is open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfers.
- Beginners will learn all fundamental skills—from popping up to catching waves.
- Intermediate and advanced surfers will work on refining technique, turns, building speed, and progression-based on personal goals.
Where will I be surfing?
We meet at Public Access #4 on Wrightsville Beach. Look for the WB Surf Camp tent at the base of the boardwalk.
What about parking?
If you plan to stay and watch, paid parking is enforced daily from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, March 1 – Oct 31 at Public Access #4.
Parking passes can be purchased at the onsite kiosk or via the Text-2-Park / QR code system.
Will I need to bring my own wetsuit?
Late summer and fall in North Carolina offer gorgeous surf conditions—warm days, cool nights, and consistent swell. As the water and air temperatures begin to drop, you are welcome to bring a spring suit or wetsuit top for comfort and warmth throughout your session.
Will there be pictures of me surfing?
Yes! We take high-quality photos during sessions and may share highlights on our social media pages. You will be able to see them after the session on our Facebook galleries!
What if a session needs to be rescheduled?
Our WB Surf Club runs rain or shine, and may be canceled and rescheduled in the event of thunder/lightning or hazardous surf conditions. Safety is our #1 priority and in the event of weather cancellations or needed reschedules, Oct 21 and Oct 28 will service as makeup days.
