Frequently Asked Questions:
I've never surfed before. Is this club for me?

The After School Surf Club is open to beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfers.

  • Beginners will learn all fundamental skills—from popping up to catching waves.
  • Intermediate and advanced surfers will work on refining technique, turns, building speed, and progression-based on personal goals.
If I already have surf experience, will I get to learn more advanced maneuvers?

Absolutely. Our coaching team works across all levels. Intermediate and advanced surfers receive personalized feedback and coaching on complex maneuvers, reading waves, and building style and confidence.

Do I need to bring my own surfboard?
  • Learn-to-Surf: Surfboards are provided.
  • Intermediate/Advanced: Needs to bring their own board and leash.
Where will I be surfing?

We meet at Public Access #4 on Wrightsville Beach. Look for the WB Surf Camp tent at the base of the boardwalk.

Will I need to bring my own wetsuit?

Late summer and fall in North Carolina offer gorgeous surf conditions—warm days, cool nights, and consistent swell. As the water and air temperatures begin to drop, you are welcome to bring a spring suit or wetsuit top for comfort and warmth throughout your session.

Will there be pictures of me surfing?

Yes! We take high-quality photos during sessions and may share highlights on our social media pages. You will be able to see them after the session on our Facebook galleries!

What about parking?

If you plan to stay and watch, paid parking is enforced daily from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, March 1 – Oct 31 at Public Access #4.

Parking passes can be purchased at the onsite kiosk or via the Text-2-Park / QR code system.
