Bahamas Surf Camp - Teen Adventure Program
This 10 day teen summer camp adventure takes place on one of the most incredible island in the Bahamas, Eleuthera. Here you will find pink, sandy beaches with crystal clear, turquoise water that forms into perfect waves for both beginner to intermediate surfers ages 14 - 18. Eleuthera is known for its various surf breaks, especially Surfers Beach, and also boasts rolling green hills, stunning bluffs overlooking the ocean, and inland lagoons and caves.
The island is over 110 miles long but little more than a mile wide in most places. In certain spots on the island you can see both the deep blue Atlantic Ocean and the calmer, aquamarine Caribbean Sea at the same time. With its close proximity to the east coast of Florida, Eleuthera is a short flight from many parts of the United States. With water temperatures averaging 80s year round, Eleuthera is the perfect environment for marine science education, surfing and island exploration.
Surf Campers will visit the Ocean Hole, which is a natural limestone wonder, so deep it is thought to be bottomless, and that is home to tropical fish and turtles. Eleuthera is a paradise for snorkeling, we will experience up close the beauty of the amazing coral formations and swim with various marine life. Participants will kayak the inland lakes and lagoons where we will find an abundance of birds, marine life, and tropical flowers including an array of wild orchids. Each day will begin with stretching and yoga to help prepare us for our multiple daily surfing sessions, and we will end the week camp with a fun surfing contest where everyone wins. Our meals consist of local fare as well as buffet-style dinners where an assortment of fresh food will be provided.
